Pantone Color of the Year 2023 VIVA MAGENTA

Every year, PANTONE has a color forecast, and this color is used in Fashion, Interior, Hair Color Design & Trends. 

I love Magenta, and I have been using it for many years, even before there were Semi-Permanent Colors to create this shade. I would create Magenta by mixing an Intense Red with Blue, then take the combination and make it lighter by mixing a Toner (Blue/Violet) or Natural/Ash Blonde Shade, utilizing the color wheel and levels.  

However, now we have semi-permanent colors that are very bright, vivid, and intense, and they are much more intense because ONLY semi-direct dyes can create such intensity.  

I like to place Magenta into Dark, Medium, and Lighter levels,

• The full intensity in darker base levels,
• Lighter intensity & pastel levels of Magenta in blonde bases
